Traveling Overseas

1160546_28909823Traveling overseas can be an experience within itself. Making sure you have everything planned and questions answered. Sometimes it can be tough knowing which questions to ask. For example: Does my credit card have an international fee? Most credit cards do have a fee associated with international transactions. These can be while you are traveling or over the internet. With our VISA credit cards there is a 1% international fee per transaction.

Every credit card comes with a PIN (Personal Identification Number). These PINs are usually only needed to take a cash advance on your credit card through an ATM. European countries are starting to require that you put a PIN in when you swipe your credit card. This makes the transaction more secure for the merchant. This also takes away the liability the merchant has when you swipe your card. If you do not know your PIN we can order a new one for you, but it takes 7 to 10 business days for you to receive the PIN. So if you know you are going to be traveling, you will want to give yourself enough lead to time to get a new PIN.
